DEDICATED TO STUDENTS AND PARENTS

A MESSAGE FROM JOE PORTERA

Friends & Neighbors,

Growing up in Tustin and graduating from Tustin High School, I know Tustin has been a great place to raise a family. I had thought initially that the local school system would be a good and safe environment for my kids. Over the last few years however, Tustin Unified School District has lost its way in a number of areas and it is affecting all of our kids in a negative way. The Tustin Unified School District Board of Trustees has either made several bad decisions, or not made decisions when the situation called for it. This has troubled me since I am invested in TUSD with my kids. This has troubled me so much that I decided to run for Tustin School Board District 1, to stop the degrading of our school district even more. What are the problems the TUSD Board has dealt with poorly:

  • Teacher and School Personnel scandals, involving teacher and employee conduct with school children that resulted in law enforcement getting involved. These crimes have been covered in the media. Where was the extensive employee screening that should have been used to screen out these employees? Where was the TUSD Board in protecting our children from predators? This inaction is dangerous to our kids. This has to change.
  • The TUSD Board passed a resolution to affirm that boys can play in girls sports and compete against girls. Even though the state had legislated this, the TUSD Board thought it would be a good idea to support it in Tustin, and passed a resolution upholding it. Is this what we want for our girls, being brutalized by boys on the sports fields? In the locker rooms?
  • The TUSD Board has done nothing to oppose the “Lie to the Parents” bill passed in Sacramento. Again, more inaction from these Board Members.

More bad decisions and inaction is how this current TUSD Board operates. TIME FOR A CHANGE! Support Joe Portera for Tustin School Board. Joe stands for:

  • Safer Schools from external and internal threats
  • Supporting Parents Rights
  • School Choice
  • School District Transparency

If you want this school nonsense to stop, and have a common-sense approach to education, vote for Joe Portera for Tustin School Board.

Thank you
